Hello! I hope you had a lovely week. This weeks post is all about the Maasai Market.

It is hard to believe that I live in Nairobi and  I had NEVER been to the Maasai Market until recently. I went on two consecutive Saturdays and I must say that I fell in love. The market bursts with colour and vibrancy. All the things sold at the market are proudly Kenyan and are the only source of income for some of the artisans.

You can find anything from paintings to bags to clothes to refrigerator magnets all upholding the Kenyan theme. Jewelry is very popular and it’s an accessory lovers paradise.

I must say that shopping here as a Kenyan is feasible but if you are a foreigner you need to be stern with the sellers or they may take advantage of your naivety. If you are a foreigner and cannot bargain, come with a local who may help you or go to some shops available near the Hilton where the goods are at a fixed price.
